Client Goal:

Deliver a robust, high-capacity plumbing system capable of serving a six-storey townhouse with multiple bathrooms, efficient heating, and reliable hot water supply. Radiators waste wall space, collect dust, and never heat evenly.

Scope of Work

  • Boiler Installation: Supplied and installed an Elco commercial gas boiler providing robust, energy-efficient heating performance.

  • Water Pressure Boosting: Fitted a Duty Point Scuba Tank to maintain stable water pressure across all six floors.

  • Hot Water System: Installed a Megaflo unvented hot water cylinder for consistent, high-pressure delivery.

  • Underfloor Heating: Installed a wet UFH system across lower floors for discreet, even warmth.

  • Radiators: Fitted modern radiators throughout upper levels for responsive heat distribution.

  • Bathrooms: Completed full plumbing installations for three luxury bathrooms, including concealed pipework and high-spec sanitaryware.

  • System Commissioning: Full testing, balancing, and commissioning in line with manufacturer standards.

The Process

1. Design & Planning

  • We worked closely with the homeowner and builder to create a fully integrated plumbing and heating layout tailored to a six-storey vertical structure.
    Detailed heat loss and flow-rate calculations ensured balanced heating and hot water performance across every level.

2. Installation

  • Installed concealed primary and secondary pipework for a clean, seamless finish.

  • Connected the Elco commercial gas boiler to dual heating circuits serving both UFH and radiators.

  • Integrated a Duty Point Scuba Tank for stable, boosted pressure throughout the tall townhouse.

  • Installed a Megaflo unvented cylinder for reliable, high-pressure hot water.

  • Carried out full plumbing installations for Three bathrooms, including wall-hung toilets, concealed shower valves, and modern fixtures.

4. Testing & Handover

  • Every component was pressure-tested, flushed, and commissioned.
    The client received a complete demonstration, including boiler operation, thermostat control, and water pressure management.

Challenges & Solutions


Vertical Distribution: Six floors presented a challenge for maintaining balanced pressure and temperature. The Duty Point Scuba Tank provided a stable, boosted water supply to all outlets.

Compact Plant Space: We designed a bespoke plant layout to house the boiler, cylinder, and pump system efficiently without compromising access or serviceability.

Efficiency Targets: The Elco high-efficiency boiler and advanced digital controls achieved both energy savings and improved performance.
